However, a few tree species in Florida undergo some color changes in the fall, though they are less vibrant and widespread than you might find in the northeastern United States.

Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua): Sweetgum trees are one of the few species in Florida that display vibrant fall foliage. Their star-shaped leaves turn shades of red, orange, and purple in the autumn, making them stand out in the landscape. You can find sweetgum trees in the northern and central parts of Florida.

Red Maple (Acer rubrum): Red maples are native to Florida and can be found throughout the state. While the color change may not be as intense as in northern regions, their leaves can turn a subtle red or yellow in the fall. The extent of the color change can vary based on factors like weather conditions and soil quality.

Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum): Bald cypress trees are famous for their knobby "knees" that protrude from swampy areas. In the fall, their needle-like leaves can turn a rusty brown or copper color. These trees are commonly found in wetlands and along water bodies in Florida.

Black Gum (Nyssa sylvatica): Black gum trees, also known as tupelos, are found in Florida, particularly in the panhandle and northern parts of the state. Their leaves can transform into shades of red and purple during autumn, adding some color to the landscape.

Dogwood (Cornus Florida): Native to Florida, the flowering dogwood can produce red and purple foliage in the fall. These small to medium-sized trees are often found in the northern and central regions of the state.

It's important to note that the extent of color change in Florida's trees during the fall is milder than what you would see in temperate regions with distinct seasons. The state's mild climate and abundant yearly sunshine result in a more subdued, sporadic fall foliage display. Moreover, these changes' specific colors and timing can vary from year to year and location to location.
